Radio City Christmas Spectacular Kicks Off the Holiday Season – The Timeless Spectacle Announces Tickets Availability

It’s Christmastime again in New York City. Radio City Christmas Spectacular kicked off the holiday season with its annual “Christmas in August” event that took place on August 13. Stopping traffic on the 6th Avenue in front of its permanent home, Radio City Music Hall, Santa Claus along with the Rockettes started the holiday festivities. More like a preview to the main spectacle that will start its run on November 13 and continue till January 3, 2016, the huge crowd was treated to the “Parade of the Wooden Soldiers”. Also, the iconic “Rag Dolls” scene was brought to life that first premiered in 1940 and was re-imagined for the 2014 production.

Christmas Spectacular’s permanent staple, the Rockettes have been associated with this holiday tradition since 1933, spreading Christmas cheer among generations. Radio City Christmas Spectacular tickets start selling as soon as they are made available and price wavers as the shows draw closer. In the secondary ticket market, the average ticket price in the early weeks of November is relatively low as compared to the rates in the final four weeks of December. According to ExciteEvents, the average price of Christmas Spectacular tickets in the month of November is $100. The inaugural show carries a price tag of $95.

Multiple performances per day will take place during December and the average ticket price is around $110. December 25 show carries a price tag of $161, which is the most expensive one on the docket. Radio City Christmas Spectacular shows that will take place in 2016 are high priced, tickets averaging at $142. Last performances will run from January 1-3, hence attendees will have to pay top dollar to attend these shows.

Radio City Music Hall has been hosting this grand spectacle since decades and its cavernous gold-and-red Art Deco auditorium offers the perfect setting. The historic arena will once again come alive with the traditional favorites, dazzling dance numbers and classic holiday acts.
