In March, 2018, NME revealed that the Grammy nominated Snow Patrol are going to end their six-year hiatus and are working on a new studio project. This news spread like wildfire across the globe, making fans jump with sheer excitement. During the next couple of months, they continued to build up hype for their return and even took to Instagram where they shared an image of the album’s track-list confirming that they indeed will be making their comeback soon.

On May 25th, the wait ended and Snow Patrol came out with their seventh studio album, ‘Wildness.’ The record did great in most European countries including, Ireland and Scotland where it topped the charts. It was also approved by the critics, receiving 4/5 stars from AllMusic. Following the release of the album, the quintet surprised everyone by announcing dates for their ‘Wildness Tour.’

  1. Explosive Live Shows

This is a given. After all, Snow Patrol are returning on the road after more than half a decade so, don’t be surprised if they decide to go all out and deliver a fiery performance that you will remember for a long time. It is always special when artists perform cover songs of other stars by giving them their own touch. In the past, Snow Patrol have played their renditions of popular songs during their concerts and they might do it again this time. One of the most popular tracks that they have covered in the past is titled, You Are My Joy which was released by the Scottish indie rock supergroup, The Reindeer Section in 2002. That song has featured in a number of television shows including, ‘Queer as Folk’ and ‘Grey’s Anatomy.’

After releasing their sixth studio effort, ‘Fallen Empires’ in 2011, the band announced its hiatus during which the lead singer of the band, Gary Lightbody battled his own personal demons. As things started to look up for him, he suffered a writer’s block which hindered his ability to write new material for the band.

In 2006, Snow Patrol came out with their biggest hit single to date, Chasing Cars which helped them become major stars. This song brought them great following in the US where it reached sixth spot on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming their highest charting song in the country. It was also certified quintuple platinum by the RIAA.

In addition, the track got them a Grammy nomination for the ‘Best Rock Song’ and made it to The Rock FM’s list of, ‘The Rock 1000.’ The track has also been covered by stars like, Ed Sheeran, Boyce Avenue and Kate Ceberano.   1. Songs From ‘Wildness’

Snow Patrol’s much awaited album, ‘Wildness’ came out seven years, after the release of ‘Fallen Empires,’ in the summer of 2018. Produced by Jacknife Lee who has previously worked with the band on their last four studio efforts, the record sold over thirty nine thousand copies in the U.K., receiving silver plaque from the BPI. The album contained ten songs, out of which the band released four, Don’t Give In, Life On Earth, What If This Is All The Love You Ever Get? and Empress, as singles.
