Rush Explores 40 Years of Music with “R40 Live”
The power rock trio has embarked on their “R40 Live” Tour, celebrating four decades of impassioned performances and astounding music. And according to the members this could be their last hurrah. The Rock n Roll Hall of Famers are ready to bid farewell in a grand style and will be travelling to almost 30 North American cities. One of the most talked about tours started in May and has so far recorded sold out shows at most destinations. The recently held concert in Buffalo’s First Niagara Center witnessed jam-packed attendance and fans paid up to $281 (average ticket price) to attend the show.
A deftly packaged celebration, “R40 Live” is introspective and retrospective, treating the ardent fans to classic rock radio hits. The trio – Geddy Lee, Neil Peart and Alex Lifeson go through their eclectic repertoire backwards, time travelling from the latest hits to career breakthrough numbers.
With spectacular performances in Chicago and Auburn Hills, Rush is next heading to Toronto for two shows at the Air Canada Centre on 17 and 19 June. They will then stop in Montreal and on June 23 will land in Boston. The rockers will bring their music marathon to TD Garden and fans will have to pay top bill to attend the event. According to ExciteEvents, Boston is the most expensive stop in the itinerary, ticket averaging at $622. Three shows following it, taking place in Philadelphia, Newark and New York on June 25, 27 and 29, respectively are also high priced. Rush tickets price for the shows in the mentioned order are $433, $493 and $497.
The best known progressive rock band touches on 15 out of 20 albums, opening the concerts with the most recent hit, “The Anarchist”. Moving in a chronological order, they next treat the crazy, screaming fans to 2007 released tracks “The Main Monkey Business” and “Far Cry”. The backward theme continues through the night and it’s not just nostalgic for the musicians but also for the audience who have been following these legends’ music for a long time.
“R40 Live” Tour will take its final bow on August 1 in Los Angeles. The average ticket price for the last concert taking place at The Forum is $430. There are some low priced concerts as well and tickets to Montreal show on June 21 are available for $101.
Join Rush in their 40 years’ celebration of timeless progressive sounds as they cement their place as the most quintessential mega-rock in history.
