Lady Gaga had 125,000 song downloads that day as well. This was around 960% as compared to the day before the Super Bowl. Out of these songs, the single ‘Million Reasons’ from her latest album Joanne was the bestselling. It had 45,000 downloads. The sales of the song ‘Bad Romance’ were up by 1,525% while those for ‘Born This Way’ increased by 2,202%.
Apart from these sales, streams of Lady Gaga’s catalogue in the US have skyrocketed on Spotify. According to the data from the music streaming service, the streams of her music material have gone up 605%. A 674% increase has been noted on the songs that were a part of the singer’s set-list at the half-time show. The song ‘Born This Way’ stands out on Spotify in this regard. Its streaming has gone up 1085%.
The Electrifying Performance
Lady Gaga kicked off the magnificent half-time super bowl show on a patriotic note. She began with the song ‘God Bless America’ and then transitioned into Woody Guthrie’s ‘This Land is Your Land,’ which has become a popular anthem in rallies protesting President Trump in the US. Clad in a crystal-studded costume, the singer stood above the NRG Stadium in Houston before abseiling from the roof.
