Journey and Asia Add New Shows for Summer – Band Mourns the Death of John Wetton
It’s a sad day for the music fans, especially for the diehard supporters of the supergroup Asia. After pulling out of the upcoming tour due to an ongoing battle with colon cancer, singer and bassist John Wetton passed away in his sleep on January 31. Wetton was an important part of the band and drummer Carl Palmer stated that his talent, infectious smile and sense of humor will be greatly missed.
According to the band members, surely it’s an end of an era but they will soldier on. They feel that John Wetton’s music needs to be heard loud and clear from the rooftops. This is why Journey and Asia plan to continue with their spring tour, taking it well into the summers.
Diehard fans of Journey and Asia were excited to see the iconic San Francisco rockers pair up with the veteran British prog-rockers for several spring shows. Both the bands had announced the co-headlining tour to make the spring of 2017 more cheerful for their fans by treating them to their music.
Now they have come up with the announcement of a series of summer dates as well. Considering that summers aren’t too far away, you need to secure your Journey and Asia tickets soon if you want to see them share the same stage.
Their co-headlining spring tour kicks off in March in Washington. After Journey’s residency at the Hard Rock in Las Vegas which is in May, the two rock bands will come together to share the stage all through the summers. The second leg of the tour kicks off on June 5 in Tulsa, Oklahoma and will continue till July 15, when the two bands will wrap up their acts with a final performance in El Paso, Texas. The summer trek will definitely be a tribute to John Wetton and his revolutionary singing and playing style.
