Grateful Dead Reunite for Farewell Concerts with Trey Anastasio

Though briefly, but it’s time for the Deadheads to rejoice. The Grateful Dead recently announced a reunion to celebrate their 50th anniversary and have scheduled performances in Chicago and Santa Clara. “Fare Thee Well: Celebrating 50 Years of Grateful Dead” tour will feature the four surviving and original members – Bob Weir, Phil Lesh, Bill Kreutzmann and Mickey Hart – one last time.
Multitalented Trey Anastasio will join The Grateful Dead in this brief two-city trek and will help the quartet say their final goodbye. Initially the band had planned to perform in Chicago only, but due to the unprecedented demand for Grateful Dead tickets, additional shows were announced. In an open letter to the fans, the members stated that they made the decision to go to Chicago for their last dance. But later it became clear to them that to finally say their goodbyes, they need to return to the place from where it all started – San Francisco. The docket now includes three concerts taking place at the Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara.
According to ExciteEvents, on June 27 two shows will be held, one taking place in the afternoon and the second show will start around 7pm. Average tickets price for the first concert is $4354, whereas the evening show has the average tickets price of $629. June 28 show has relatively low priced tickets and ExciteEvents is offering them at $526.
In Chicago, The Grateful Dead along with Trey Anastasio will hit the Soldier Field for four shows and two of them will take place on July 3. The remaining two concerts are scheduled for July 4 & 5. According to ExciteEvents, the most expensive show in this stop is July 3 afternoon performance, average tickets price of which is $5738. The final show on July 5 has the second most expensive tickets, average price stated as $4318.
The Grateful Dead is ready to put a punctuation mark to their “very long, very strange trip”. The band stated that they were overwhelmed by the love and interest of their fans and are simply blown away by the response they received for their “Fare Thee Well: Celebrating 50 Years of Grateful Dead” tour.
