One Direction fans were just getting used to a lineup without the heartthrob Zayn Malik and now they have been bombarded with yet another bad news. After wrapping up the “On the Road Again Tour” on October 31, 2015 and following the release of their fifth album, the boy-band will go on an extended hiatus starting March, 2016. According to a source, the quartet will not be touring in support of their fifth record and will be looking for opportunities to work on individual projects. “There is absolutely no bad blood between them and they are all 100% behind the decision. It is definitely not a split and they fully intend to get back together at some time in the future.” The Directioners will definitely keep their fingers crossed as they are not quite ready to see their favorite band calling it quits.
The only good thing coming out of this news is that One Direction tickets for their ongoing tour are selling like hot cakes. Fans have realized that these might be some of the last performances by the band and who knows when and if they will ever reunite. After Zayn Malik’s departure, One Direction released their first single “Drag Me Down” on July 31 and it broke streaming records. Just a few days ago, the boys treated the fans to its music video as well and it has Harry, Louis, Liam and Niall wearing space suits. The video was shot at NASA space station in Houston.
The North American leg of “On the Road Again Tour” still has several shows left and according to ExciteEvents, average ticket price for the remaining eight shows is $385. Olympic Stadium – QC in Montreal will host a concert on September 5 and it has high priced tickets, averaging at $548. The leg will wrap in Foxborough on September 12 and the event carries a price tag of $524.
The European leg will begin on September 24 and London’s O2 Arena will host the inaugural concert. In fact, six concerts have been planned at the arena and in the primary ticket market, all shows have been declared sold out. The Directioners will have to turn to the secondary market for One Direction concert tickets and on ExciteEvents they are available at different rates. Among the most expensive tickets on the itinerary, average price for 6 shows is $1689.
The high price hasn’t stopped the fans and they are more than ready to fill the arena seats. They are also willing to pay top dollar to watch their favorite quartet live as they rock their all-time hits and new numbers.
